Why Hire a Clinician?

How would you like for me to work with you in person on your teaching skills and entire music program?  I do more than drop by, say a few words, collect my money, and leave.  Your success, satisfaction and happiness are my primary goals.

My purpose as a clinician is to support you, both psychologically and musically.  I work for the educator, not the students.  I teach the teacher.  I advise, advocate, and work for your overall health.  I do actually teach your students while I’m with you, but my primary aim is to work with and for you.

The students come and go; but you stay there teaching, day after day, year after year.  You are the anchor of the program.  As we both know, the opportunities for one-on-one dialogue and assistance are very rare for music educators.  You attend conferences and clinics, but how many of them tailor their program just for you?  My tailored approach is as follows:

Psychological
:

·         Persistence and determination

·         Attitude and atmosphere

·         Responsibility and respect

·         Organization

·         Priority setting and time management

·         Fund raising and financial management

·         Musical concepts and listening skills

·         How to pick music

·         How to deal with burnout

Physical:

·         Intonation and tuning

·         Sound Quality

·         Blend

·         Breathing

·         Embrouchure

·         Articulation

·         Phrasing

·         Expression

I have been very fortunate to work with thousands of great people who are dedicated educators.  I would be privileged to work for and with you.

CLINICS THAT COUNT

Ken Foberg is a professional musician and educator with extensive experience throughout the country as a director and clinician with jazz bands and concert bands at all levels.  He will work with you and your band to improve:  performance, reading ability, intonation, overall musicality, and above all, attitude and motivation.  He will also consult with you on setting up a Jazz program from all levels:  combo to big band, improvization to Jazz history, with in depth suggestions of text and music.   Ken knows how to pick music for its content, musicality and ability level…and he’s available to help you select charts that are right for your group.
